Ever wondered what keeps your devices safe from harm? Well, you'll soon find out in Melbits World, which was announced for iOS by the folks at Doublethink Games.

Melbits World, which launched first for PlayStation 4, puts a fun and adorable spin on real-life technology and how they are protected. Melbits are these little creatures who play a sort of malware protection service for your devices.

Whether it's PCs, mobile phones, or gaming consoles, these guys put on their capes and save the day, but they need your help in the process. There are viruses taking over all of the technology and the Melbits are trying to keep them away from the things we love.

Your goal is to collect six runestones across several different worlds as you run and jump through colourful levels. These stones will allow you to defeat the invading viruses inside of each universe and send them running in terror.

There are six worlds to tackle, each with their own set of levels to play. On top of this, there are 72 levels in total, keeping things fresh each time you fire the game up.

Each of the many levels offers up unique mechanics. Be careful, though, as there are plenty of traps that you'll need to avoid as you traverse the world.

One of the game's coolest features is that you'll be able to customise each world that you explore. They all have their own unique aesthetic, but you'll have the ability to tweak their look.

Speaking of customisation, you can deck out your Melbits as well. As you play through, you can grab some sweet gear to make your cute little heroes look as cool as can be. Taking out a virus is fun, but doing it style is even better.

Melbits World is out right now for $5.49 on the App Store.
Are you a fan of quality puzzle games?
