Marble - Temple QuestFunction introduction

TokoToko is a puzzle game created by the French developer Kalank. It's an AR game where you solve puzzles by drawing objects on paper that will then come to life and the game's characters will interact with them. It's set to release on October 3rd for Apple devices with an Android version planned for next year.

The example given by the developer is drawing a boat so that the main character Hako, an adorable blue cat with overly giant eyes, can cross a river. In concept, it reminds me of Scribblenauts except that instead of writing you're actually drawing the solutions to puzzles.

It also gives other non-drawing examples of solutions for puzzles such as blowing on the screen to create wind for the boat sails. It sounds very cool and I'm very intrigued to see how well it works. The characters you'll come across in the story including Hako the cat are called Tokotokos. They're all creative artist types with different personalities. Alongside Hako, for example, is Azuko, a lion, who is a narcissistic painter.

Angry Birds Casual, Rovio's back-to-basics puzzler, has quietly soft launched for iOS. It aims to offer an easy-to-learn experience that strips away some of the complexity of the more recent entries in the incredibly popular Angry Birds series.

If you've been living under a rock for the last decade or so, Angry Birds is a physics-based puzzler that sees you flinging birds towards dastardly pigs and precarious structures in order to boost your score and beat the level. The challenge stems from only having a limited number of birds to use, meaning you're going to have to be efficient and accurate.

Angry Birds Casual sees the "most endearing Angry Birds characters yet" venture out on an epic quest to unite fireflies with their soulmates. How cute.

There are currently hundreds of levels to play through spread across a number of distinct worlds. As you progress, you'll earn coins to exchange for boastworthy rewards.
The best 5 iPhone and Android games for Angry Birds fans
PocketGamer.biz has confirmed that the test will run for roughly one to two months, and those in the US, Finland, Poland, and Sweden can get involved if they so desire. A global release date is yet to be confirmed, but hopefully it's not too far off.

A few weeks back, Angry Birds Tennis soft launched in the US. That one's an arcade tennis game featuring a host of fan-favourite characters. I didn't get a chance to play it, sadly, but a global launch must be on the horizon.

You'll find Angry Birds Casual available for download now as a free-to-play title from over on the App Store. Curious Android players should probably expect it to hit Google Play at a later date.
On the hunt for more top-tier puzzlers? Well, you're in luck! Here are 25 of the very best on iPhone and iPad

Lost in the Dungeon is the latest in a long line of really interesting card-based games that have been landing on mobile. It's a dungeon crawler, where you control your actions with a deck of cards. Think of a more mature Card Crawl and you're getting there.

The deeper you get into the dungeon, the more difficult things get. So the more loot you're going to have to collect. Even though the action here is card-based, there's a whole heap of strategy and contemplation that you're going to have to go through if you want to succeed.

Click here to read our Card Crawl review

You need to grow your characters as well, and they're incredibly customisable, from skill sets to armour and weapons. There's also the potential for your adventure to never end, with the dev teasing new dungeons, skills, and classes still to come.

The game is out right now for iPhone and iPad and you can click here to download it. And keep your eye on TableTap for a review in the not-too-distant future.

Earlier this year, Google opened up submissions for this year's Google Play Indie Games Festival. It's an international competition that aims to celebrate the very best of indie gaming from across Europe, Japan, and South Korea.

Now, a list of finalists has been whittled down from hundreds of submissions. There are 20 finalists from each of the three regions, and I'm sure you'll recognise a decent number of them. They'll all receive promotions and prizes and compete to earn some top rewards reserved for the overall winners.

Descenders launched earlier this year for PC and Xbox, seemingly coming out of nowhere and quickly generating a whole lot of buzz. It’s a downhill freeriding game that serves up procedurally generated worlds for you to hone your extreme sport’s skills on, and it's headed to Switch "very soon".

The game comes to us from RageSquid, the team behind 2014’s butt-sliding platformer Action Henk, which saw you playing as a 90’s-style action figure.
SWITCH ANNOUNCEMENT:Descenders is *finally* coming to Nintendo Switch very soon! With more than 600,000 players across Xbox One and Steam, and countless positive reviews, @RageSquid's freeriding masterpiece will finally be playable on the go!https://t.co/aYZxzsaVnkTRAILER: pic.twitter.com/7jPoBVZc0h— Mike Rose (@RaveofRavendale) July 18, 2019Since launch, Descenders has received a ton of fresh new content, all of which we can probably expect to see bundled in with the Switch version. While I haven’t yet played it myself, the gameplay looks great, with rapid-fire reaction times clearly being essential and tons of challenging slopes to tackle and jumps to land.

Having read some reviews of the PC version, it sounds like the game allows for some impressively tight and subtle control over your rider and bike. The physics-based riding looks weighty and intense, as it should.Your ultimate goal is to survive the entire game in a single, no doubt highly stressful run. Doing so will enter you into the ranks of the legendary Descenders; an exclusive club indeed.

As you play, you’ll unlock special mutators which keep repeat runs feeling fresh. And there’s also an extensive online mode and rep system that allows you to show off your freeriding skills. You’ll choose between three different teams: Enemy, Arboreal, or Kinetic; and you’ll be bound together with other players on the same side as you. The team with the highest rep will be rewarded with regular prizes, and you can even kit out your rider with your team’s colours and exclusive gear.

Based on the Tweet I’ve embedded above, you can expect to see Descenders come crashing onto Switch “very soon”. While that’s admittedly a little vague, I’d imagine we’ll be seeing it well before the year is through.
Check out our news section to discover the latest, and greatest, games.
Captain Jim shook his head sagely.

Cyber Monday has arrived over at Amazon, and it comes bearing some nice new Switch deals. Most of these come bundled with a game or some sort of peripheral, but getting the Switch by itself is still a perfectly decent idea – especially seeing as it's never been cheaper than its current price.
