Zombie Match Defense is about as generic a name as you could think of. Thankfully, this is intentional. Developer Jake Sones, whose AAA experience includes Diablo III, was challenged by a friend to make a game that contains all of the App Store's most overused tropes.

The result is a combination of Plants vs Zombies and match-three puzzler. A column of healthy humans sits on the left of the screen, and zombies randomly make their way along the rows connected to them, moving one square with each match.

Making a line behind a zombie causes it to lurch back one square, and making a line containing a zombie kills it. Certain matches also unlock weapons – the number and range available grow over the course of the game – which you can deploy at will for an easy kill.

Yes, Zombie Match Defense is full of overused tropes. But it still manages to be original, as well as polished, humorous, and accessible.

For a chance to win thousands of dollars of advertising and to see your game in an article like this one, register now for the Big Indie Pitch at Gamescom and the Very Big Indie Pitch at PGC Helsinki.

Reviews of Apple's new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have been popping up across the internet over the past 24 hours.

It's a lot of information to take in. To help you absorb all of those critical words about Apple's latest hardware, we thought to do a quick roundup for you.

And if you want a super tl;dr version: the hardware upgrades (display, camera, battery life) of the iPhone 6 are excellent but not anything that exciting. It's iOS 8 that really propels the iPhone 6 to greatness, and those features will be coming to other iPhones soon, anyway.

The Verge said that the iPhone 6 is probably the best smartphone on the market right now.

iOS 8 makes everything feel simple and accessible. But, while the hardware is an improvement, it's nothing revolutionary or that exciting.

Closing note: "it’s still an iPhone. The same thing Apple’s been making for seven years."

CNET squares the iPhone 6 against its bigger sibling, the iPhone 6 Plus.

Predictably, the iPhone 6 feels better to hand. However, the 6 Plus has extra battery life and optical image stablization. The problem is that the huge 6 Plus is more like a tablet than a smartphone.

Closing note: "[The iPhone 6 isn't] the absolute top of the line. Maybe that bugs you. If it does, get the 6 Plus."

TechCrunch calls the iPhone 6 the "best smartphone available."

The best mobile camera, improved battery life, an attractive design, and Apple's "pleasant to use" display wins here.

Closing note: "it’s all about delivering the best computer you can keep in your pocket, and that’s exactly what the iPhone 6 is."

TechRadar calls the iPhone 6 iconic but isn't impressed by its price.

A few little issues that you have to live with are: a protruding rear camera, slight looseness to a couple of the buttons, and the headphone port is still at the bottom of the phone.

Closing note: "the iPhone 6 is another iconic handset in terms of design for Apple. It's not the best looking on the market [...] but it's definitely right up there, and for the price I'd expect nothing less."

The New York Times doesn't think the iPhone 6 is as vital as is the software it runs on, iOS 8.

Apple doesn't take enough of an advantage of the big screen as it could have, such as having two resizable windows open simultaneously. The hardware upgrades it has are stellar, though.

Closing note: "The slim new iPhones aren't a big-screen slam-dunk, but they work well, as we have come to expect from Apple."

So, there you have it. There are, of course, many more reviews of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus out there if you want them.

What do you think - are you going to get one?

Or my affection put to th' smallest teen,
Developer Sting has announced they will be releasing an enhanced version the PSP title Gloria Union: Twin Fates in Blue Ocean for iOS and Android sometime during 2021 in Japan. It's called the FHD Edition and the official website is set to go live in January with all the details. This news was first spotted by Gematsu.

Since the game's website isn't live just yet details on the port are fairly scarce at the moment. We do know it will have additional functionality, balance adjustments, a high-definition makeover and be made easier to play but no specific examples of this.
XCOM 2 Collection review: "Play it! If you can"
There are currently no details on whether or not Gloria Union: Twin Fates in Blue Ocean FHD Edition will release outside of Japan either, but given that the PSP version, which launched in 2011, didn't make the jump overseas it certainly seems unlikely.

If you're unfamiliar with the game itself, it's a spin-off to Yggdra Union and a tactical RPG that makes use of a card-based system and turn-based movement combined with real-time combat. There are a number of different classes to choose from for your team such as Sniper and Gunner.
??????????????????3???????????????????????????HD????????????????2021? ???????????1???????????????#????????? pic.twitter.com/h6xoZLNvRa— ??????? (@sting_pr) December 22, 2020The story, meanwhile, follows a young pirate boy who is in search of a power source called Will. To find it, he'll need to locate the city of Euforia, which sank to the bottom of the ocean along with crystals that contain the coveted power source.

Gloria Union: Twin Fates in Blue Ocean will be heading to the App Store, Google Play and Nintendo Switch sometime during 2021 in Japan.
